Cohesion in English - Czech Translations: A Contrastive Study
Abstract:
This diploma thesis presents contrastive view of cohesion in English-Czech translations. In the first part cohesive devices in English and Czech are presented as they are described in literature on this issue. In the second part sets of English texts and their Czech translations are compared in terms of the occurrence and use of cohesive devices.
Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce podává kontrastivní pohled na kohezi v překladech anglických a českých textů. V první části byly prezentovány kohezní prostředky v angličtině a češtině obecně, tak jak jsou popsány v literatuře, která se touto problematikou zabývá. Ve druhé části jsou porovnávány soubory anglických textů a jejich českých překladů z hlediska výskytu a užití kohezních prostředků.
