Qualitative Analysis of Individual Psychotherapeutic Process

Abstract:

Kvalitativní výzkum individuální psychoterapie zkoumá proces a účinky terapie. Jedná se o pozorování 34 psychoterapeutických sezení individuální psychoterapie natočených na videozáznam. Pozorovatel sleduje proces, který se odehrával v psychoterapii a zjišťuje, zda terapie byla úspěšná a jaké účinné faktory přispěly k pozitivnímu efektu psychoterapie. Při záznamu pozorování výzkumník kategorizoval verbální projevy klienta a terapeuta a emoční projevy u klienta v průběhu terapeutického sezení. Současně sledoval přístup a techniku terapeuta, která proces a účinek terapie ovlivňuje.

Abstract:

This qualitative research in the field of individual therapy was aimed to examine the process as well as the impact of psychotherapy. The study involves the observations of 34 video recordings obtained from different therapeutic sessions. The observer monitored process with the aim to establish whether the therapy had been successful and what factors had contributed to the positive effects in the process of psychotherapy. The patterns observed included verbal expressions of both the therapist and the client, which were subsequently categorized, as well as any of the client´s emotional expressions during the session. Apart from that, the observation was also directed at the approach and method of the therapist, by which the process and the impact of psychotherapy are largely influenced.
