Impact of Addictive Substance Use on the Course of Pregnancy

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo více přiblížit problematiku užívání návykových látek u žen v průběhu těhotenství. Popisuje způsob užívání a jednotlivé účinky legálních i nelegálních užívaných látek na těhotenství i plod. Věnuje se rizikům, které může aplikace drogy způsobit jak u matky, tak u plodu. Jak těmto rizikům předcházet a potenciálně s nimi nakládat, aby dopady na matku a její dítě nebyly žádné, popřípadě byly co nejmenší. Popisuje také managment péče a vedení porodu drogově závislé ženy. V neposlední řadě je popsána možná léčba, konkrétně druhy léčby, jejich průběh, podávaná medikace a psychologické metody, které mohou lidé se závislostí využívat. V praktické části této bakalářské práce jsme se věnovali kazuistice ženy, která užívala pervitin a THC. Kazuistika obsahuje zhodnocení a průběh porodu, následnou péči na šestinedělí a řešení právní, sociální a rodinné situace matky, která v těhotenství vědomě užívala pervitin a THC a tím dávala v sázku své zdravý i zdraví svého dítěte.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to get closer to the problem of the use of addictive substances by women during pregnancy. It describes the method of use and the individual effects of legal and illegal substances on pregnancy and the fetus. It deals with the risks that drug use can cause both for the mother and the fetus. How to prevent these risks and potentially deal with them, so that the effects on the mother and her child are none, or at least as small as possible. It also describes the management of care and delivery of drug-addicted women. Last but not least, the possible treatment is described, specifically the types of treatment, their course, administered medication and psychological methods that people with addiction can use. In the practical part of this bachelor thesis, we focused on the case study of a woman who used methamphetamine and THC. The case report includes an evaluation and course of childbirth, subsequent care for the postpartum period and a solution to the legal, social and family situation of the mother, who knowingly used methamphetamine and THC during pregnancy and thereby risked her health and the health of her child.
