Social and psychological consequences of divorce (comparision from the gender point of view)

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou rozvodovosti a nejčastějšími důsledky rozvodu manželství. Teoretická část práce se věnuje postavení muže a ženy v současné společnosti, jejich rolím v rodině i na trhu práce. Zabývá se proměnami v rodině a jejích funkcích, ale i změnami v celé společnosti. Zejména však popisuje rozvod manželství, jeho historický vývoj i současnou právní úpravu. Poukazuje na nejčastější důsledky rozvodu manželství, zejména v oblasti ekonomické, sociální, péče o nezletilé děti a pojednává také o porozvodové adaptaci. V empirické části práce je formou dotazníkového šetření zjišťováno, jaké problémy rozvod častěji přináší ženám a jiné, které přináší mužům. Současně byly zjišťovány rozdíly mezi pohlavími, pokud jde o zvládání porozvodové situace.

Abstract:

This thesis discusses the issue of divorce and the most common consequences of divorce. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the status of man and a woman in currant society, their roles in the family and in the labor market. It examines changes in the family and in its functions, but also the changes in the whole society. In particular it describes the divorce, its historical development and the current legislation. This paper also mentions the most common consequences of divorce, especially in the economic and the social sphere, the care for underage childrem and also discusses the post-divorce adaptation. The empirical part of this thesis, in the form of a questionnaire, explored which difficulties connected to divorce are more common for women and which are more typical for men. Also examined were the differences between the sexes in the case of managing the post-divorce situation.
