Abstract:

S rozvojem globálního turismu a moderních technologií pro sdílení fotografií dochází ke změnám vnímání prostoru. Tato bakalářská práce se tedy zaměřuje na problematiku vizuální geografie v rámci cestovního ruchu a vytváření vizualizací různých turisticky navštěvovaných destinací. K analýze byly využity fotografie sdílené evropskými cestovateli na sociální síti Instagram. Jednalo se o fotografie ze zvolených lokalit – Egypta a Japonska. K výzkumu byla vybrána metodika geografické kvalitativní vizuální analýzy orientalismu. V Egyptě převažovaly prvky tradičního orientalismu – statické geometrické kompozice, důraz na historii a zaostalost daných lokalit. V Japonsku naopak převažuje techno orientalismus. Ten je charakteristický pro svoje zobrazování moderních technologií, pokroku a budoucnosti v neustále se vyvíjejícím světě. Z práce vyplývá, že orientalismus může mít různé typy vizualizace a určité lokality jsou zobrazovány se svými specifickými rysy. Ty mohou následně ovlivnit způsob nahlížení na prostor a jeho vnímání jako celek.

Abstract:

With the development of global tourism and modern photo-sharing technologies, the perception of space is changing. This Bachelor thesis therefore focuses on the issue of visual geography within tourism and the creation of visualisations of various tourist destinations. The photos used for the analysis were shared by European travellers on the social networking site Instagram and were chosen based on previously selected locations – Egypt and Japan. As for the methodology, geographic qualitative visual analysis of Orientalism was used. In Egypt, the majority of elements were of traditional Orientalism - static geometric compositions, emphasis on the history and underdevelopment of the localities. In Japan, techno Orientalism was the most prominent influence with its depiction of modern technology, progress, and the future in this rapidly evolving world. This thesis suggests that Orientalism can have different types of visualization, and certain localities are portrayed with their specific features which can influence the perception of those locations and space as a whole.
