Radiation doses in rotational angiography

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se zabývám radiačními dávkami u 3D rotační angiografie mozkových tepen, provedené ve Fakultní nemocnici Ostrava. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část praktickou. V teoretické části se věnuji anatomii a patologii mozkových tepen, možnostem jejich zobrazení a kontrastním látkám. Popisuji účinky ionizujícího záření, interakce gama záření s hmotou, principy radiační ochrany, veličiny a jednotky a následně se zaměřuji na rotační angiografii. V praktické části zpracovávám data, týkající se dávek u 3D rotační angiografie a digitální subtrakční angiografie. Popisuji použité protokoly u zobrazovacích výkonů, uvádím kazuistiky a srovnávám radiační dávky u 3D rotační angiografie mozkových tepen s radiačními dávkami při nástřiku ze dvou projekcí.

Abstract:

In my bachelor's thesis, I deal with radiation doses in 3D rotational angiography of cerebral arteries, performed at the University Hospital Ostrava. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part, I deal with the anatomy and pathology of cerebral arteries, the possibilities of their imaging and contrast agents. I describe the effects of ionizing radiation, the interaction of gamma radiation with matter, the principles of radiation protection, quantities, and units, and then I focus on rotational angiography. In the practical part, I process data related to doses in 3D rotational angiography and digital subtraction angiography. I describe the protocols used for imaging procedures. I present case study and compare radiation doses in 3D rotational angiography of cerebral arteries with radiation doses during injection from two projections.
