The influence of mineral wealth on the structure of the Russian economy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem těžby nerostného bohatství na strukturu ruského hospodářství. Jejím cílem je zjistit, zda se v ruském hospodářství v letech 2005-2020 vyskytovaly symptomy holandské nemoci. Teorie holandské nemoci vysvětluje negativní důsledky přílivu zisků z těžby nerostných na strukturu hospodářství a hospodářský růst. Holandská nemoc se v hospodářství projevuje apreciací reálného kurzu, růstem reálných mezd, poklesem výrobního sektoru a zpravidla růstem sektoru služeb. K naplnění cíle práce jsou analyzovány makroekonomické indikátory odpovídající jednotlivým symptomům holandské nemoci.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of mineral raw materials mining on the structure of the Russian economy. Its aim is to find out whether the Russian economy had symptoms of Dutch disease in 2005-2020. The Dutch disease theory explains the negative consequences of the inflow of profits from mining on the structure of the economy and economic growth. The Dutch disease is manifested in the economy by the appreciation of the real exchange rate, the growth of real wages, the decline of the manufacturing sector and usually the growth of the services sector. To fulfill the aim of the work, macroeconomic indicators corresponding to individual symptoms of Dutch disease are analyzed.
