Brexit - The Withdrawal From The European Union

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce popisuje mechanismus možného a plánovaného vystoupení Spojeného království z Evropské unie prostřednictvím analýzy stávající právní úpravy. Klade si za cíl nastínit následky tohoto závažného kroku, které budou podle mé hypotézy závažné a převážně negativní jak pro vystupující Spojené království, tak pro Evropskou unii. Práce je zaměřena na historii vztahů Spojeného království a EU od počátku vstupu až po současný stav Brexitu. Část bakalářské práce je věnována Evropské unii jako celku a jsou zde popsány podmínky pro vstup členského státu, historické milníky a vývoj a právní úprava vystoupení z EU. Ve vztahu k samotnému Brexitu jsem se zaměřila především na důvody, které k němu vedly a na důsledky, které bude mít jak na samotné Spojené království, tak na Evropskou unii. Na závěr práce jsem zařadila jednu přílohu, která je spojena s Brexitem.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis is to describe mechanism of the likely and planned exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union based on the analysis of the existing formal mechanism for a country to leave the EU. The aim is to outline the complexity and gravity of this challenging step, which will have, according to my hypothesis, serious and predominantly negative consequences for both the United Kingdom and the European Union. The thesis traces back the history of the UK and the EU relationship from the UK entry up to the current status of its exit from the EU. One part hereof also explains what the European Union is, conditions for EU enter to member states, historical milestones and developments, and legal implications of Brexit. The study also addresses the reasons leading to Brexit as well as consequences which this controversial event might have for all countries involved. This study is supported by the documentation relevant to this topic, presented at the end of this study.
