Suburbanization in Brno illustrated on data migration

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá rezidenční suburbanizací v zázemí města Brna. Suburbanizační tendence mění v současnosti struktury měst téměř všech metropolí a výjimku netvoří ani metropole moravská. Při stěhování obyvatel z města do atraktivních lokalit jeho předměstí se v suburbánní oblasti mění nejen počet obyvatel, ale i jejich demografická a sociální struktura. Současně tyto změny ovlivňují strukturu obce a mění nenávratně jeho podobu. V teoretické části se práce zaměřuje zejména na definiční charakteristiky suburbanizace a její roli v kontextu urbanizace a vývoje měst a na historii. Sleduje také různé projevy suburbanizace v prostoru zázemí metropole, kterých může nabývat, a podmiňující faktory pro její vznik a následný rozvoj. Část teoretického prostoru je také věnována negativním dopadům. Cílem empirické části práce bylo vysledovat na základě analýzy dat „Anonymizované databáze meziobecního stěhování“ hlavní suburbanizační proudy, kterými se vývoj brněnského zázemí ubírá a dále charakterizovat suburbánní migranty podle jejich pohlaví, věku, rodinného stavu, nejvyššího ukončeného vzdělání a důvodu proč se rozhodli ke stěhování.

Abstract:

This work deals with residential suburbanization in the hinterland of the Brno city. Suburban tendencies change contemporary structures of almost all towns and cities and Moravian metropolis is no exception. When people move from city to its suburbs attractive locations there are many changes not only in population but also in demographic and social structures. At the same time these changes affect community structure and changes its shape forever. The theoretical part will focus on the characteristics and on the definition of suburbanization and its role in the context of urbanization and urban development. The work also watchs the various manifestations of suburbanization in the hinterland of the city, which can acquire, and also try to find conditioning factors for the begin and subsequent development. At work there is also the history of suburbanization. Part of the theoretical space will be also given to the negative effects that suburbanization causes. The aim of the empirical part is based on the analysis of data from "Anonymised database of intercity migration". The work watchs the main currents of suburbanization by which is Brno spreading and than characterizes suburban migrants according to their sex, age, marital status, highest educational attainment and the reason why migrants decided to move.
