Technology of passanger check-in at Airport Prague

Abstract:

Teoreticko-analytická část této diplomové práce se podrobně zabývá společností Letiště Praha, a.s. a zaměřuje se zejména na činnosti související s procesem odbavení cestujících a letadel v rámci technického, obchodního odbavení letadel, tzv. handlingu. První část práce tedy v neposlední řadě zahrnuje nezbytný teoretický základ nutný pro uvedení do problematiky odbavení cestujících na letišti Praha Ruzyně. Z tohoto pohledu je část práce orientovaná také na organizační strukturu společnosti Letiště Praha, a.s. Praktická část analyzuje kritická místa v celém procesu odbavení cestujících, přičemž hlavním předmětem této části je zkoumání kvality jak z pohledu dopravce, tak i z pohledu zákazníka. Pro odhalení kritických míst z pohledu dopravce byla využita metoda SWOT, která poukazuje zejména na silné a slabé stránky celého systému. Dále v této práci využívám metod operačního výzkumu, zejména z oblasti teorie hromadné obsluhy, pro stanovení dodržení standardů nastavených Letištěm Praha, a.s. při odbavení na přepážkách check-in. Pro potřeby výpočtu je uveden příklad odbavení cestujících nízkonákladového dopravce. Pro zjištění vnímání procesu odbavení cestujícím, byl proveden kvalitativní průzkum pomocí dotazníků.

Abstract:

Theoretical-analytical part of the diploma thesis closely focuses on the company Letiště Praha, inc. and particularly on the activities connected with the process of passengers´ checking-in as well as planes´ technical and business checking-in so called ?handling?. Consequently the first part of the thesis includes essential theoretical basis necessary for introducing the problems with passengers´ checking-in at Prague Ruzyně airport. From this point of view the thesis is also partly oriented on the organizational structure of Letiště Praha, inc. The practical part analyses critical points in the whole process of passengers´ checking in, in which the main subject of interest is an exploration of quality from a transport company´s point of view as well as from the point of view of passengers. The SWOT analyses method was used to find out critical points from a transport company´s point of view and it primarily shows strengths and weaknesses of the whole system. There are some methods from operational research used in the thesis especially from the theory of bulk queues to monitor keeping the check-in-standards set by Letiště Praha, inc. for check-in points. The calculation was done on an example of low-cost airline passengers´ check - in. To find out passengers´ perception of the check-in process a questionnaire survey on quality was carried out
