E-learning support of the course PV216 Marketing Strategy in Service Business

Anotácia:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá tématikou e-learningu a problematikou diaľkovej výučby. Cieľom práce je preskúmať, čo je e-learning, aké sú jeho charakteristiky a ako by mohol byť použitý na Fakulte Informatiky Masarykovej Univerzity v Brne. Diplomová práca sa skladá z dvoch častí. V prvej časti je zhrnutý koncept e-learningového systému. Jeho entity a vzťahy medzi nimi sú popísané pomocou ¨ konceptuálneho modelu a diagramov prípadov použitia (use case diagrams). V druhej časti práce je navrhnuté praktické riešenie e-learningu, ktoré má dokázať funkčnosť modelu navrhnutého v prvom kroku. Pred samotnou implementáciou konkrétneho kurzu sú analyzované špecifické požiadavky pre tento kurz. Podľa poznatkov získaných v tejto analýze je vybrané vhodné virtuálne prostredie (Virtual Learning Environment) na výučbu kurzu. Na implementáciu do e-learningového prostredia bol vybraný kurz PV216 Marketing Strategy in Service Business, u ktorého by možnosť výučby pomocou Internetu mala priniesť riešenie problému chýbajúceho lektora, ktorý sa objavoval v minulosti. Praktickým výstupom práce je funkčné e-learningové prostredie kurzu Marketing Strategy in Service Business a navrhnutie zmien štruktúry jeho výučby, materiálov a spôsobu hodnotenia, ktoré by mali po nasadení e-learningového systému nasledovať.

Abstract:

The thesis analyzes the phenomenon of the e-learning education. Goal of this diploma thesis is to examine what is e-learning, what are its characteristics and how it can be used on the Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University. The diploma thesis consists of two parts. In the first part, concept of e-learning is reviewed. E-learning system, e-learning entities and their relationships are described by the conceptual model and the use case diagrams. In the second part of this thesis, practical e-learning solution is designed in order to prove theoretical solution constructed in the first step. Prior to the implementation of the particular e-learning course, specific requirements for this course are analyzed. An appropriate Virtual Learning Environment for the course is chosen with respect to this knowledge. Course PV216 Marketing Strategy in Service Business was chosen to be implemented into the e-learning environment. This implementation could resolve problems with missing tutor for the course, which occurred in the past. As a practical output of the thesis, functional e-learning environment is implemented for the course Marketing Strategy in Service Business and modifications in the structure, materials, the teaching method and the way of evaluation of the course are proposed.
