The Development of the Czech-Japanese Economic Relations in Context of the Public Business Support in the Louny Region

Abstract:

Politické změny po roce 1989 přinesly výrazné změny také v oblasti podnikání. Český trh se otevřel i pro zahraniční investory, které lákala laciná pracovní síla i zajímavé pobídky státu, regionů i jednotlivých měst. Vedle evropských a amerických společností se zde též objevují podnikatelské subjekty z Asie. Na severu Čech jsou to především společnosti z Japonska. V této bakalářské práci se pokusím posoudit, zda se japonské firmy odlišují od ostatních zahraničních investorů. Zaměřila jsem se na organizaci práce, motivaci zaměstnanců i na otázku ovlivnění kulturního či společenského dění v místě jejich nového působení. Další otázkou je, zda vstup japonských investorů naplnil očekávání obcí a regionu i v souvislosti s přijatou veřejnou podporou. Ukázalo se, že získávání některých informací není jednoduché, neboť japonská firma působí navenek jako poměrně uzavřený systém. Proto jsou respondenti, kteří byli ochotni podat informace o výše zmíněných otázkách, uváděni bez bližších osobních informací.

Abstract:

Political changes after 1989 have brought also significant changes in business. The Czech market has opened also for foreign investors, who were attracted by cheap labour force and by interesting incentives from the government, regions and cities. Alongside European and American companies, firms from Asia have also appeared. In the north of Bohemia there are mainly Japanese companies. In this bachelor thesis I try to asses whether Japanese firms are different from other foreign investors. I focused on the organization of work, motivation of employees and on the issue of influencing cultural and social life in the place of their operation. Another question is whether the entrance of Japanese investors has fulfiled the expectations of municipalities and the region in relation to the accepted public support. It has turned out that acquiring certain information is not easy, because a Japanese firm seems to be a closed system. That is why the respondents who were willing to share information on above mentioned issues are presented without personal data.
