Contemporary dance lessons as a part of the primary and secondary schools' curricula

Abstract:

Ústředním tématem této magisterské práce je tanec a jeho místo ve vzdělávání žáků druhého stupně základních škol, středních škol a gymnázií. Hlavním cílem je popsání významu taneční výchovy a jejího vlivu na zdraví a duševní vývoj člověka, doplněné návrhem jednoho z možných způsobů její aplikace do výuky. Úvodní kapitola shrnuje výsledky zkoumání současného zdravotního stavu, tělesné kondice a životního stylu dnešní mládeže. Druhá část se věnuje tématu kolektivní taneční aktivity a jejího vlivu na zdraví člověka, na rozvoj osobnosti, tvořivost, vnitřní motivaci, socializaci dítěte a životní styl. Třetí část stručně vysvětluje jednotlivé pojmy z oblasti tanečních a pohybových disciplín nutné pro zasazení konceptu taneční výchovy do širšího kontextu, se zaměřením především na současné a moderní styly tance. Ve čtvrté kapitole je zpracována koncepce a význam taneční a pohybové výchovy ve vzdělávání pro první a druhý stupeň základních škol, které jsou uvedeny v projektu Tanec školám a v RVP pro základní školy, a také dosavadní zjištěné údaje o zařazení pohybové aktivity do vzdělávání. Výsledkem práce je návrh aplikace taneční a pohybové výchovy pro II. stupeň základních škol, středních školy a gymnázií, který vychází ze získaných poznatků a který je zpracován v páté kapitole. Její přínos spočívá především v tom, že se zaměřuje na starší žáky a snaží se zpracovat téma moderního a současného tance, pro které v současné době není k dispozici dostatečné množství dostupných materiálů.

Abstract:

The central theme of this thesis is dancing and its position in the education of pupils at the second stage of elementary schools, secondary schools and grammar schools. Its main goal is to describe the importance of the dance education, its influence on health and mental development of people, and then its possible way of application in the curriculum. The first chapture summarizes the results of a research focused on the state of health, physical condition and lifestyle of today’s young people. The second part deals with the topic of a team dancing activity and its positive influence on the people‘s health, personality development, creativity, inner motivation, child socialization and the lifestyle of young people. The third part briefly explains individual terms concerning the field of dance and motion, necessary for the context of the thesis, and then describes the application of the motion activities in the classes. The fourth chapter treats with the conception and importance of the dance and motion education at the first and second stage of elementary schools as it is set in The Dance for Schools Project and in the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education, and also the present established facts about the inclusion of the motion activity in the curriculum. The result of the thesis is a concept of the application of the dance and motion education in the second stage of primary schools and in secondary schools that is based on the found information and elaborated in the fifth chapter. Its importance lies especially in its focusing on the pupils of the second stage of elementary schools and students of secondary and grammar schools, and in its effort to elaborate the topic of modern and contemporary dance, for which we do not have enough available materials at the present.
