Hexavalent chromium in the environment

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou chromu a jeho sloučenin v životním prostředí s důrazem na chrom šestimocný. Úvod je věnován základním fyzikálně-chemickým vlastnostem chromu a jeho výskytu v přírodě. Následuje přehled jeho významných sloučenin a jejich vlastností. Další část pojednává o jeho toxicitě. Součástí práce je i přehled průmyslových odvětví, kde se chrom používá, a legislativní předpisy upravující jeho vypouštění do životního prostředí. Dále je pozornost věnována možnostem analýzy chromu. Práce obsahuje také experimentální část, kde je sledován šestimocný i celkový chrom.

Abstract:

The work deals with the issue of chromium and its compounds in the environment with an emphasis on hexavalent chromium. The introduction is devoted to basic physico-chemical properties of chromium and its occurrence in the nature. The following is a summary of important chromium compounds and their properties. Another part deals with its toxicity. The work also includes an overview of industries where chrome is used and legislative regulations governing its discharge into the environment. Attention is also paid to the possibility of analysing chromium. The work also includes an experimental part, where total and hexavalent chromium are monitored.
