The attitudes of the romany youth to questions of un/employment

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice ne/zaměstnanosti v romské minoritě. Zaměřuje se především na zkoumání postojů romské mládeže ve věku 16 - 26 v litoměřickém regionu k otázkám ne/zaměstnanosti. Práce se zabývá tímto tématem, protože mladá generace může sehrát klíčovou roli při realizaci pozitivních změn ve společnosti. Proto je velmi důležité zjistit, jaké názory a postoje tito mladí lidé zastávají. Práce vychází z předpokladu, že názory a postoje romské mládeže se mohou lišit od názorů a postojů, které k danému problému zastává majoritní společnost, ve které vznikají sociální programy určené této cílové skupině. V rámci bakalářské práce bylo provedeno šetření mezi romskou mládeží a odbornými sociálními a pedagogickými pracovníky ve stejném regionu. Výsledky šetření jsou zpracovány v bakalářské práci a ukazují, že větší část romské mládeže zaujímá aktivní a pozitivní postoje k ne/zaměstnanosti. Zároveň byla zjištěna skupina mladých Romů, kteří volí pasivní, nekonstruktivní přístupy. Výsledky dále nasvědčují, že názory odborných pracovníků na situaci romské mládeže se liší od názorů mladých Romů. Odborní pracovníci hodnotili situaci podstatně negativněji než respondenti z romské komunity.

Abstract:

This bachelor work talks about problems of un/employment in the romany minority. It is focused on an exploration of the romany youth's attitudes to questions of un/employment in the region of Litoměřice. The work considers this topic, because young generation could play main roles in realization of positive changes in society. It is realy important to find out which opinions and the attitudes these young people have. The work is based on the presumption that the opinions and the attitudes of young Romanies could be different than the opinions and the attitudes of the people from the major society, where social programs for this target group are formed. The bachelor work involves a research in a group the romany youth and in a group of social and pedagogic workers in the same region. The results of the research are elaborated in this work. They show that the bigger part of the romany youth have the active and positive attitudes to un/employment unemployment. A group of young Romanies who have chosen the passive and non-constructive attutudes, has been found also. The results indicate also, that the opinions of social and pedagogic workers are different from the opinions of young Romanies. The social and pedagogic workers evaluate the situation quite more negatively than the respondents from the romany minority.
