School climate - the views of parents, teachers and students

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá klimatem školy na vybrané střední škole, kterou je Střední škola prof. Zdeňka Matějčka v Ostravě - Porubě, a je rozdělena do dvou částí. První z těchto částí popisuje problematiku klimatu školy po teoretické stránce a snaží se osvětlit pojmy s klimatem školy související (např. prostředí školy, atmosféra školy, kultura školy, sociální skupina, aktéři školního klimatu atd.), dále stručnou historii výzkumu klimatu školy a metody výzkumu. Druhou částí diplomové práce je vlastní výzkum, který byl proveden na výše zmíněné Střední škole prof. Zdeňka Matějčka. Výzkum byl prováděn kvantitativní metodou formou dotazníků. Byly vytvořeny 3 druhy dotazníků, které byly rozeslány mezi 3 skupiny respondentů ? žáky, učitele a rodiče. Na základě odpovědí respondentů byly zpracovány výsledky výzkumu a porovnány s předem stanovenými hypotézami.

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with the school climate in the selected secondary school which is the Secondary School of prof. Zdeněk Matějček in Ostrava - Poruba and it is divided into two parts. First part describes the topic of school climate from the theoretical point of view and it tries to illustrate the terminology connected with the school climate (e.g. school environment, school atmosphere, school culture, social group, participants in school climate, etc.), and also a brief history of school climate research and research methods. Second part presents the research which was performed in the above mentioned Secondary School of prof. Zdeněk Matějček in Ostrava - Poruba. The research was performed by the quantitative method of questionnaires. Three types of questionnaires were created that were sent to three groups of respondents: pupils, teachers and parents. The answers were processed and compared with the initially stated hypotheses.
