Rare CNS tumors

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vzácnými nádory centrální nervové soustavy. Cílem práce je seznámit se se zástupci vzácných nádorů centrální nervové soustavy, technikami radioterapie mozkových nádorů a efekty radioterapie. Bakalářská práce se skládá ze dvou částí - části teoretické a části praktické. Teoretická část je věnována popisu samotného vzácného nádoru a jednotlivých druhů vzácných nádorů centrální nervové soustavy u dospělých. Zaměřeno je především na jejich charakteristiku a možnosti léčby. Dále zde popisuji techniky radioterapie, které se používají v léčbě mozkových nádorů. V praktické části jsem vyhodnocovala vybrané pacienty se vzácnými nádory centrální nervové soustavy z let 2016 - 2023. Pacienti s meningeomy a gliomy vyššího stupně nebyli záměrem hodnocení. Hodnocená skupina obsahovala 45 pacientů. Data jsem sbírala z informačního nemocničního systému na Masarykově onkologickém ústavu v Brně.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with rare tumors of central nervous system. The aim of the thesis is to get acquainted with representatives of rare tumors of the central nervous system, radiotherapy techniques for brain tumors and the effects of radiotherapy. The bachelor thesis consists of two parts - a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to the description of the rare tumor itself and individual types of rare tumors of the central nervous system in adults. It is primarily focused on their characteristics and treatment options. Next, I describe the radiotherapy techniques used in the treatment of brain tumors. In the practical part, I evaluated selected patients with rare tumors of the central nervous system from years 2016 - 2023. Patients with meningiomas and high-grade gliomas were not included in the evaluation. The evaluated group included 45 patients. I collected the data from the hospital information system at the Masaryk Oncology Institute in Brno.
