Effects of smoking hookahs and other tobacco products on health

Abstract:

Kouření je chronické onemocnění, které lze označit jako závislost na tabákových výrobcích. Je hlavním rizikovým faktorem pro vznik rakoviny plic a patří mezi nejzávažnější zdravotní rizika. Diplomová práce se zabývá kouřením tabákových výrobků a jejich vlivu na zdraví, především nastiňuje problematiku kouření vodní dýmky. V teoretické části je popsána historie kouření, princip fungování a účinků kouření vodní dýmky na zdraví. Část je věnována tabáku a závislosti. Dále jsou zde popsány další tabákové výrobky, jejich historie a vliv na zdraví. V praktické části jsou zpracovány a graficky znázorněny výsledky dotazníkového šetření. Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit informovanost veřejnosti o škodlivosti kouření cigaret a vodní dýmky. Analyzovat a porovnat získané údaje s výsledky šetření, které byly zpracovány v bakalářské práci. Dále zjistit míru tolerance (u vybrané populační skupiny 30-50 let) ke kouření cigaret a vodní dýmky u vlastních dětí. Zmapovat výskyt míry kuřáctví cigaret a vodní dýmky. Dotazníkového šetření se celkem zúčastnilo 301 respondentů. Pro srovnání některých údajů byla použita data z bakalářské práce Srovnání negativního působení kouření vodní dýmky a cigaret na zdraví. V tomto souboru bylo 332 osob. Z výsledků je zřejmé, že někteří respondenti mají zkušenost s kouřením jak cigaret, tak vodní dýmky. Povzbuzující fakt je, že ani jeden typ kouření nevyzkoušelo více než polovina osob. Kouření vodní dýmky považuje za méně škodlivé než kouření cigarety celkem 68 procent respondentů. V hodnocení informovanosti o škodlivosti kouření vodní dýmky a cigaret uspěli v obou případech nejlépe studenti lékařské fakulty. Z dotazníkového šetření vyplývá, že respondenti ve věku 30-50 let jsou ke kouření vodní dýmky více tolerantní než ke kouření cigaret.

Abstract:

Smoking is a chronical disease that can be described as an addiction to tobacco products. It is the main risk factor for lung cancer and is among the most serious health risks. This thesis deals with smoking tobacco products on health, especially outlines the issues of smoking hookah. The theoretical part describes the history of smoking, principles of functioning and effects of smoking hookah on health. One section is devoted to the issue of tabacco and addiction. Another thesis describes other tobacco products, the history of smoking tobacco products and effects smoking tobacco products on health. Results of checklists are processed and graphically visible in the practical part. The objective of this thesis was to find out the public knowledge of the harmful effects of smoking cigarettes and hookahs. Results of checklists are analyzed and compared with data of bachelor thesis. Another aim of this thesis was to discover level of tolerance smoking cigarettes and hookahs (selected population groups 30-50 years). This thesis mapped an incidence level of smoking cigarettes and hookah. To map the incidence rate of cigarette smoking and hookah. There were 301 respondents participated in the questionnaire survey. Some results of checklists were compared with data of bachelor thesis Comparison of the negative effects of smoking hookahs and cigarettes on health. In aggregate there was 332 people. The results show that many respondents had experience with smoking as cigarettes as hookahs. More then half of the people never tried smoking. It is stimulating fact. There were 68 percent respondents believed, that smoking hookahs is less harmful than smoking cigarrets . Students of college succeeded that are best informated in both cases evolutions of the harmfulness of smoking hookahs and cigarettes than other groups. Results of checklists followed that respondents (30-50 years) are more tolerant to smoking hookah than smoking cigarettes.
