Sovereign Rating and Its Specifics

Abstract:

Hlavním předmětem této práce je suverénní rating a jeho specifika. První část je věnována obecnému vymezení oblasti ratingu od jeho definice přes jeho druhy a typy až k užívané ratingové stupnici, která se vztahuje i k suverénnímu ratingu. V závěru první kapitoly je část zaměřená na ratingové agentury, především na ty globální. V následující části je obsažen rozbor suverénního ratingu s detailním popisem ratingové metodologie agentury Moody’s a přiblížení determinant, které mají vliv na výslednou udělenou známku. Dále jsou také popsány specifické rysy a efekty suverénního ratingu. V závěrečné části práce je na základě předchozích poznatků rozebrán vývoj vybraných ukazatelů české ekonomiky a také vývoj ratingového hodnocení České republiky.

Abstract:

The main focus of this thesis is sovereign rating and its specifics. The first part of the thesis deals with general framework of a rating, starting with its definition, continuing with its types and ending with the rating scale that is also used for sovereign rating. The final part of the first chapter focuses on rating agencies, mainly the global ones. Next part includes an analysis of sovereign rating with detailed description of Moody’s rating methodology and explanation of determinants that affect the final rating evaluation. Specifics and effects of sovereign rating are also discussed. The final part of the thesis analyses development of selected indicators of Czech economy and development of the Czech Republic´s rating.
