Optimization of distribution activities in a selected company in the context of City logistics

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zpracována na téma optimalizace rozvozních aktivit ve vybrané společnosti v kontextu City logistiky. Jednotlivé části práce jsou zaměřeny optimalizaci rozvozů sudového piva a nealkoholických nápojů pomocí matematických metod, jako je Clarke-Wrightova metoda, Mayerova metoda a metoda nejbližšího souseda. Cílem této práce je nalézt optimální řešení těchto rozvozních aktivit, aby byla finančně přínosná a aplikovatelná pro společnost LIMAR. Tato diplomová práce obsahuje dvě části a to teoretickou a aplikační část. V teoretické části si objasníme pojmy logistika, distribuce, dodavatelský řetězec, operační výzkum, city logistika či okružní dopravní problém. V aplikační části budou aplikovány matematické metody jako Clarke-Wrightovu metodu, Mayerovu metodu a metoda nejbližšího souseda. Na základě využití těchto metod bude provedena optimalizaci rozvozních aktivit.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the optimization of the distribution activities in a selected company in the context of City logistics. Individual parts of the thesis are focused on the optimization of the distribution of cask beer and soft drinks using mathematical methods such as the Clarke-Wright method, the Mayer method and the nearest neighbour algorithm. The goal of the thesis is to find an optimal solution for these distribution activities in order to be financially beneficial and applicable for the LIMAR company. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and applied. In the theoretical part we will clarify the concepts of logistics, distribution, supply chain, operations research, city logistics and the vehicle routing problem. In the applied part we will apply mathematical methods such as the Clarke-Wright method, the Mayer method and the nearest neighbour algorithm. Using these methods we will optimize the company’s distribution activities.
