Evaluation in an aqueous medium of the ultimate aerobic biodegradability of organic compounds according to CSN ISO 10707

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá stanovením biologické rozložitelnosti organických látek ve vodním prostředí dle České státní normy ISO 10707. V teoretické části této práce je shrnuta problematika organických látek ve vodách, uvedena metoda stanovení biologické spotřeby kyslíku a zmíněny další existující metody tohoto stanovení. V experimentální části práce byla provedena volba vhodného inokula pro zaočkování tzv. ředící vody a optimalizace dávkování testované látky. Jako zdroj mikroorganismů byly dle normy navrženy inokula povrchové vody, odtokové a městské splaškové vody. Testovaná koncentrace studované látky byla v rozsahu od 2 mg/l do 10 mg/l. Zavedené testy s touto koncentrací látky se neosvědčily, protože byl zaznamenán nízký a proměnlivý biologický rozklad u reálného vzorku. Jako nejvhodnější inokulum se ukázalo inokulum odpadní vody s testovanou koncentrací 5 ml/l. Ze získaných výsledků vyplynulo, že normou doporučené dávkování testované látky je nevyhovující a je nutno přistoupit k dávkování testované látky dle její hodnoty chemické spotřeby kyslíku, které bylo zvoleno na 5 mg/l.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis pursue with the determination of biodegradability of organic substance in water environment according to the Czech state standard ISO 10707. In the theoretical part of this thesis is summarized the issue of organic substances in water, mentioned method of determination of biological oxygen demand and mentioned other existing methods of this determination. In the experimental part of this thesis, a choice of suitable inoculum for so-called dilution water inoculation and optimization of the test substance dosing was performed. According to the standard, inoculum of outflow water, surface water and urban sewage water have been proposed as a source of microorganisms. Range of test substance concentrations was from 2 mg/l to 10 mg/l. Performed tests with this substance concentration didn´t suit of this range because of the low and variable biodegradation of the real sample. As the most suitable inoculum has been proved waste water inoculum with the tested concentration of 5 ml/l. The obtained results showed that the recommended dosage of the tested substance according to the standard is inadequate and it is necessary to proceed dosage this substance according to its value of chemical oxygen demand, which has been chosen to 5 mg/l.
