The Vampire Motif in the Culture of the English Speaking Countries
Abstract:
Práce se věnuje motivu upíra v kulturách světových národům, především v anglicky mluvících zemích. Postupuje od porovnání upírů v antických kulturách, přes středověké zmínky až ke zdrojům z novověku. Studuje mýty, lidové příběhy, pověsti i literaturu a filmovou a televizní tvorbu a hledá vzájemnou podobnost i rozdílnost ve zpracování tohoto tématu.
Abstract:
The thesis is focused on the vampire-motif in the various cultures, mainly in the English speaking countries. The motif has been pursued since its very beginnings in the Antique cultures, later in the Middle Ages until the Modern Ages.
