The impact of selected HR practices on employee retention in healthcare

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá anýze vybraných personálních postupů a analýze jejich vlivu na retenci zaměstnanců ve zdravotnictví. Cílem bakalářské práce je určit, které personální nástroje mohou mít tendenci snížit fluktuaci ve zdravotnictví v České republice. Retence pracovníků v tomto odvětví je klíčová pro jeho stabilitu, fluktuace může způsobit nemalé problémy díky nemalému přínosu společnosti tohoto odvětví. Práce přináší vyhodnocení vlivu na retenci zaměstnanců ve zdravotnictví v České republice těch personálních nástrojů, u kterých již v minulosti v různých studiích byl zjištěn vliv na retenci. V teoretické části jsou popsány všechny klíčové personální postupy, popsány termíny fluktuace a retence a také jsou popsány specifika implementace personálních postupů přímo ve zdravotnictví. Praktická část obsahuje kvalitativní a kvantitativní šetření formou nestrukturovaného rozhovoru a dotazníkového šetření a věnuje se získaným znalostem z obou šetření. Výsledky šetření se z části lišily od výsledků literární rešerše, ale část se také s literární rešerší shodovala. V závěru práce jsou uvedena doporučení pro personální oddělení ve zdravotnictví, na jaké personální postupy je třeba se zaměřit u určitých podskupin respondentů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of selected HR practices and their impact on employee retention in healthcare. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to determine which HR tools may tend to reduce turnover in the healthcare sector in the Czech republic. Staff retention in this industry is crucial for its stability, turnover can cause considerable problems due to the major contribution of the industry to society. This thesis presents evaluation of the impact on employee retention in the Czech healthcare sector of those HR tools that have an impact on retention according to various studies in the past. In the theoretical part, all key HR practices are described, and the specifics of the implementation of HR practices directly in the healthcare sector are also described. The practical part includes a qualitative and quantitative research in the form of an unstructured interview and a questionnaire survey and discusses the knowledge gained from both researches. The results of the research were partly different from the results of the literature search, but part of them also coincided with the literature search. The paper concludes with recmmendations for HR departments in the healthcare sector on what HR practises to focus on for certain subgroups of respondents.
