Creating helpful and practical materials to assist in training Financial skills in adults with Aphasia

Abstract:

Hlavní náplní diplomové práce je zjištění úrovně finanční kompetence u dospělých osob s diagnózou afázie formou nově vytvořeného diagnostického nástroje - Testu finančních kompetencí a terapie narušených schopností prostřednictvím nově vytvořeného Terapeutického materiálu, který přímo navazuje na jednotlivé oblasti Testu finančních kompetencí. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části - část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část vymezuje základní pojmy související s afázií, její klasifikací, etiologií i terapií. Zabývá se také specifickými problémy souvisejícími s diagnózou akalkulie, objasňuje definice, etiologii i symptomy a posuzuje finanční schopnosti. Závěrečná kapitola teoretické části vymezuje rozdíl mezi finanční gramotností a finančními kompetencemi. Praktická část diplomové práce se zabývá metodologií, cíleným výzkumným souborem a prostředím, ve kterém výzkum probíhal. Obsahuje také proces tvorby Testu finanční kompetence a proces tvorby Terapeutických materiálů. V závěru jsou zpracovány 3 případové studie osob s diagnózou afázie, u kterých byly vytvořené materiály ověřeny.

Abstract:

The main content of the diploma thesis is to determine the level of financial competence in adults with a diagnosis of aphasia, in the form of a newly created diagnostic tool - the Financial Competence Test, and the therapy of impaired abilities through the newly created Therapeutic material, which directly follows on from the individual areas of the Financial Competence Test. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines basic terms related to aphasia, its classification, etiology and therapy. It also deals with specific problems related to the diagnosis of acalculia, clarifies definitions, etiology and symptoms and assesses financial capabilities. The final chapter of the theoretical part defines the difference between financial literacy and financial competences. The practical part of the thesis deals with the methodology, the targeted research set, and the environment in which the research took place. It also contains the process of creating the Financial Competence Test and the process of creating Therapeutic Materials. In the end, 3 case studies of people with a diagnosis of aphasia are processed, in which the created materials were verified.
