Cardiovascular rehabilitation as a part of treatment of metabolic syndrome

Abstract:

Tématem práce je kardiovaskulární rehabilitace jako součást léčby metabolického syndromu. Bakalářská práce hodnotí vliv dvanáctitýdenního intervenčního programu u vybraného pacienta, jehož zdravotní stav splňuje kritéria metabolického syndromu. Hodnocení spočívá v porovnání vstupních a závěrečných hodnot rizikových faktorů kardiometabolických onemocnění. Hodnoty jednotlivých složek metabolického syndromu včetně vybraných hemodynamických parametrů byly získány pomocí biochemické analýzy krevního vzorku a absolvování zátěžového testu na bicyklovém ergometru. Tříměsíční kardiovaskulární rehabilitace zahrnující 18 tréninkových jednotek vedla ke snížení hodnot rizikových faktorů a k významnému navýšení funkční kapacity pacienta. Výsledky poukazují na důležitost zařazení kardiovaskulární rehabilitace jako nedílné součásti léčby metabolického syndromu.

Abstract:

The topic of thesis is Cardiovascular rehabilitation as a part of treatment of metabolic syndrome. Bachelor thesis evaluates the influence of twelve-week intervention program for a chosen patient whose medical condition meets the criteria for metabolic syndrome. The evaluation is based on comparing the input and final values of the risk factors of cardiometabolic disease. The values of the individual components of the metabolic syndrome including selected hemodynamic parameters were obtained using a biochemical analysis of a blood sample and passing the exercise test on a bicycle ergometer. The three-month cardiac rehabilitation involving 18 training units led to a reduction of the risk factors and significant increase of the patient's functional capacity. The study results highlight the importance of including cardiovascular rehabilitation as an integral part of the metabolic syndrome treatment.
