Design and implementation of a corporate computer network and virtualization cluster Proxmox

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá návrhem a implementací firemní počítačové sítě a virtualizačního clusteru Proxmox. Práce vychází z požadavků na návrh, které byly získány konzultací se zástupci firmy. Pro dosažení cíle byla provedena analýza a popis stávající síťové a serverové infrastruktury zvolené firmy a byly získány potřeby a požadavky na novou IT infrastrukturu. Na základě těchto zjištění byl připraven návrh designu počítačové sítě a virtualizačního clusteru Proxmox včetně redundantního úložiště pro provoz virtuálních strojů a dalšího úložiště pro jejich zálohování. Po přípravě návrhu bylo přistoupeno k implementaci navržených řešení v produkčním prostředí. Výsledky této práce jsou funkční počítačová síť a virtualizační cluster Proxmox, které odpovídají požadavkům a potřebám zvolené firmy a zabezpečují efektivní a spolehlivé fungování její IT infrastruktury.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a corporate computer network and virtualization cluster using Proxmox. The work is based on design requirements obtained through consultation with company representatives. To achieve the goal, an analysis and description of the existing network and server infrastructure of the selected company was performed, and the needs and requirements for the new IT infrastructure were identified. Based on these findings, a design proposal for the computer network and Proxmox virtualization cluster, including redundant storage for virtual machines and additional storage for backup, was prepared. After the design phase, the proposed solutions were implemented in a production environment. The result of this work is a functional computer network and Proxmox virtualization cluster that fully meets the requirements and needs of the selected company and ensures efficient and reliable operation of its IT infrastructure.
