Living toponyms of the city district Brno-Tuřany

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá toponymy městské části Brno-Tuřany. Jejím hlavním cílem je podat přehled živých toponym, tedy těch, která jsou užívána v komunikaci, avšak popsány jsou rovněž současné uliční názvy. Toponyma jsme získali terénním průzkumem, na jehož základě jsme sestavili katalog s hesly. Část názvů jsme prověřili dotazníkovým šetřením, jehož výstupy jsou součástí práce. K sestavení katalogu jsme dále využili odbornou literaturu a současné a historické mapy. Hlavním přínosem práce je písemné uchování toponym pro další budoucí zájemce.

Abstract:

The present bachelor thesis deals with the toponyms of the Brno-Tuřany district. Its main aim is to give an overview of living toponyms, in other words, those that are used in communication, but contemporary street names are also described. The toponyms were obtained by field research, on the basis of which we compiled a catalogue with entries. Some of the names were verified by a questionnaire survey, the results of which are included in the thesis. To compile the catalogue, we also used specialist literature and contemporary and historical maps. The main contribution of the work is the written preservation of toponyms for future interested parties.
