Telomeráza je špecializovaná bunková reverzná transkriptáza, ktorej primárnou úlohou je kompenzovať straty telomérových repetícií na koncoch lineárnych chromozómov v dôsledku neschopnosti DNA polymerázy dosyntetizovať oneskorené vlákno DNA.
