Quality of life of patients before lung transplantation

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit kvalitu života pacientů před transplantací plic ve čtyřech doménách: fyzické zdraví, prožívání, sociální vztahy a prostředí. Získané údaje zpracovat a výsledky porovnat s hodnotami populačních norem. Dále pak zjistit rozdíl ve vnímání kvality života podle věku, pohlaví, rodinného stavu a vzdělání. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 29 respondentů zařazených v seznamu vhodných čekatelů na transplantaci plic. Výzkumné šetření bylo realizováno po dobu jednoho měsíce ve spolupráci s III. chirurgickou klinikou ve Fakultní nemocnici Motol v Praze. Pro měření kvality života byl použit standardizovaný dotazník WHOQOL-BREF, který zjišťuje kvalitu života ve čtyřech oblastech: fyzické, psychologické, sociální oblasti a prostředí. Získaná data byla porovnána podle norem metodiky Dragomirecké (Dragomirecká, Bartoňová, 2006). Výsledky: Dle výsledků dotazníkového šetření vyplývá, že respondenti zařazení do seznamu čekatelů na transplantaci plic mají sníženou kvalitu života především v doméně fyzické zdraví. Byl zjištěn rozdíl ve vnímání kvality života v doméně prožívání a prostředí, dále rozdíly dle věku, rodinného stavu, vzdělání a mezi muži a ženami. Závěr: Z výsledků šetření vyplývá, že závažné onemocnění respondentů zařazených v seznamu čekatelů na transplantaci plic ovlivňuje kvalitu života ve všech oblastech, výrazně především ve fyzické oblasti. Abstract:

Aim: The aim of this thesis is to measure quality of life of patients before lung transplantations in four domains: physical health, perception, social relations and surroundings. The obtained data to compile and the results to compare with the values of populations norms. And also, this thesis aids to ascertain differences between perception of the quality of life based on age, family status and education. Method: The research group comprised of 29 respondent included in the list of suitable expectants for the lung transplantation. The research was undertaken for a period of one month in cooperation with the III. surgical Clinic of the University Hospital Motol in Praha. The standardized questionnaire WHOQOL-BREF was used for the purposes of measurement of the quality of life in four areas: physical, social sphere and environment in four domains: physical, psychological, social sphere and environment. The data analysis was performed according to methology Dragomirecka (Dragomirecka, Bartonova, 2006) Results: The evaluation of the research of the quality of life of the respondents included in the list of suitable expectants for the lung transplantation showed, that even then they reach far smaller degree of quality in the physical area, they appreciate the quality of their life in respect of the living and environment far more then the ordinary population. Generally, women are more content with the quality of their lives, however, if considered according that are married and have a college education. Conclusion: It occurs, that the serious disorder materially influences the quality of life in the physical area. Decrease of quality of life in the areas was not proved.
