International comparison of social indicators of the Czech Republic after joining the European Union (2005 - 2008)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na mezinárodní srovnání vybraných sociálních indikátorů v letech 2005 - 2008. Pozornost je věnována otevřené metodě koordinace, laekenským indikátorům -- jejich metodice a zdroji dat a postupům, kterými se monitoruje sociální situace v rámci EU. Hlavní část práce srovnává vybrané laekenské indikátory mezinárodně a v čase. Jedná se o tyto indikátory: hranici chudoby, míru chudoby před a po transferech, koeficient příjmové nerovnosti, Gini koeficient a míru dlouhodobé nezaměstnanosti. Krátce je v textu zmíněna i nová ekonomická strategie do roku 2020. Práce dále popisuje ekonomický a sociální kontext vstupu České republiky do Evropské unie, sociální situaci České republiky po vstupu do Evropské unie. Také je zmíněn vstup České republiky do Evropské unie a sociální politika Evropské unie.

Abstract:

Bachelor's thesis focuses on international comparisons of selected social indicators for the period 2005 - 2008. Attention is given to the Open method of coordination, Laeken indicators - their methodology and data sources and procedures, which monitor the social situation within the EU. The main part of the thesis compares selected laeken indicators internationally and over time. These indicators are compared: poverty, poverty rates before and after the transfers, the coefficient of income inequality, the Gini coefficient and the rate of long-term unemployment. The new economic strategy for 2020 is briefly mentioned in the text. The thesis also describes the economic and social context of the Czech Republic joining the European Union, the social situation of the Czech Republic after joining the European Union. The Czech Republic joining the European Union, European Union social policy are also mentioned.
