The position of cheque in market economy

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá používáním šeku jako platebního prostředku v současném platebním styku. Během posledních let došlo v této oblasti k výrazným inovacím. Jednou ze změn je například vznik projektu SEPA, jehož úkolem je snaha o harmonizaci platebního styku v rámci celé Evropské unie. Cílem této práce je zhodnotit, jaké je postavení šeku oproti ostatním moderním platebním instrumentům nejen v současné ekonomice, ale také s výhledem do budoucna. Při zpracování byla použita metoda komparační analýzy za účelem porovnání šeku s bezhotovostním převodem z hlediska nákladů.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis describes usage of cheques as a payment method. Recently, there have been some significant innovations in this field. One of these changes is for example project SEPA. Its main purpose is to try to harmonize payment system in whole European Union. The main purpose of this diploma thesis is to assess the cheque position against other modern payment methods not only in current economy, but also in the future. The method of comparative analysis was used to compare a cheque to a wire money transfer in terms of cost.
