Evaluation of Text Comprehensibility of Textbook

Abstract:

The diploma thesis "Evaluation of clarity of the textbook" deals with the relationship between the difficulty of textbooks, comprehension and readability of the text in textbooks by students. In the theoretical part, the text as an essential component of a textbook is characterized. It deals with the textbook, its structural components, didactic function and principles. It also deals with receiving and processing information from the text, effective work of a student with the text, methods of research and evaluation of textbook quality. The methods for measuring text difficulty are decsribed in detail. The practical part determines the relationship between difficulty of the textbook using the Nestler method, comprehension and readability of the text in textbooks by students which was identified by Cloze test and Fog index. These methods provide instructions to conduct research of textbooks.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca „Hodnotenie zrozumiteľnosti textu učebnice“ sa zaoberá vzťahmi medzi obťažnosťou textu učebníc, porozumením a čitateľnosťou textu učebníc žiakmi. V teoretickej časti charakterizuje text ako základnú zložku učebnice. Zaoberá sa učebnicou, jej štruktúrnymi zložkami, didaktickou funkciou a zásadami. Venuje sa aj prijímaním a spracovaním informácií z textu, efektívnou prácou žiaka s textom, metódami výskumu a hodnotenia kvality učebníc. Podrobne popisuje metódy merania obťažnosti textu. Praktická časť zisťuje vzťah medzi obťažnosťou textu učebníc pomocou Nestlerovej metódy, porozumením a čitateľnosťou textu učebníc žiakmi, ktoré boli zistené Cloze testom a Fog indexom. Tieto metódy dávajú návod na realizáciu výskumu učebníc.
