The Concept of Woman in the Cultural History

Abstract:

Celá tato práce pojednává o pojetí ženy v dějinách umění. Práce je rozčleněna do jednotlivých kapitol, které zachycují ženu od pravěku, až do současnoti. V každé kapitole je popsána kultura konkrétního období, životní styl žen, jejich role ve společnosti a také pohlížení na ženy z řad jejich kritiků a odpůrců té jisté doby. Práce obsahuje četný obrazový materiál a životopisy nejvýznamnějších představitelek jednotlivých období. Kapitoly také podávají čtenáři ucelený obraz o konkrétní době, jejím životním stylu a kultuře.

Abstract:

The whole thesis deals with the theme of woman in the art history. It is divided into particular chapters that present woman from the prehistory till nowadays. In each chpter there is depicted the culture of the period, the life style of women, their role in the society and also the point of view on them from their critics and antagonists of the period. The thesis contains also plentiful pictorial material and biographies of the most significant women of the periods. The chapters offer to the reader the conerent portrayal of the concrete times, their life style and culture.
