Influence of music on motor skills of patients with Parkinson's disease

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem hudby na motorické dovednosti pacientů s Parkinsonovou nemocí. Pozitivní vliv hudby na tyto pacienty je často uváděn v učebnicích a odborné veřejnosti je dobře znám. Proto je v této práci testován vliv hudby na hrubou i jemnou motoriku. Hrubá motorika je testována pomocí dvou testů – Zvedni se a jdi testu a Dvouminutového testu chůze. Jemná motorika je testována pomocí jednoho testu – Testu spirály. Je porovnáván krátkodobý i dlouhodobý vliv hudby pomocí porovnání výsledků experimentální a kontrolní skupiny. Současně je potvrzen pozitivní vliv léčebné rehabilitace.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the influence of music to a motor skills of patients with Parkinson disease. The positive effect of music on these patients is often men-tioned in textbooks and is well known to the medical society. For those reasons the thesis tests the influence of music to a gross and fine motor skills. Gross motor skills are tested using two tests – Timed Up and Go test and 2 Minute Walk Test. Fine mo-tor skills are tested using one test – Spiral test. The short-term and the long-term ef-fects of music are compered by evaluating the results of the experimental and control groups. At the same time, the positive effect of rehabilitation is confirmed.
