Statistical analysis of the development of migration from Ukraine to the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá statistickou analýzou vývoje migrace z Ukrajiny do České republiky v období let 2000 až 2020 a zároveň jejím současným stavem v souvislosti s válkou na Ukrajině. Je rozdělená na dvě části – teoretická východiska a vlastní práci. První část popisuje základní pojmy týkající se migrace: definice, historická východiska, povinnosti cizinců, nelegální migrace a vznik ukrajinsko-českých vztahů. Druhá část je zaměřená na vývoj migrace do České republiky celkem a Ukrajinců zvlášť. Jako hlavní metoda byla použita analýza časových řad, vedlejšími jsou výpočet 1. diference, koeficientu růstu a bazického indexu. Na základě výsledků byla provedená predikce na další 3 roky, tzn. do roku 2023. Následně je popsáno rozložení Ukrajinců dle místa pobytu, provedena je analýza jejich nelegální migrace a její možný vývoj. Na konci práce jsou uvedena data spojené s ukrajinskými uprchlíky – jejich počet, možnosti vývoje čísel, rozložení dle pohlaví a dle místa pobytu. Údaje pro sestavování časových řad byly čerpány z oficiálního webu Českého statistického úřadu a Ministerstva vnitra.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is about statistical analysis of the development of migration from Ukraine to the Czech Republic between the years 2000 – 2020 and also depicts the current situation due to the war in Ukraine. It is separated into two parts – the theoretical solution part and the thesis itself. The first part describes the main definitions related to migration: the meaning, historical origins, foreigners’ duties, illegal migration, and the beginning of Ukrainian – Czech relations. The second part is focus on the development of migration to the Czech Republic in general and among Ukrainians in particular. Time series analysis was used as the main method. The additional ones are the calculation of the 1-st difference, the growth rate and the base index. Based on the results, a prediction was made for the next 3 years, i.e. until 2023. At the end of the thesis, there are data related to Ukrainian refugees: their numbers, possibilities for the development of numbers, and analysis according to gender and place of residence. Data from the official website of the Czech Statistical Office and the Ministry of Interior were used for creating the time series.
