EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement and its impacts within Czech-Japanese relations

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na dohodu o hospodářském partnerství mezi EU a Japonskem v rámci česko-japonských vztahů. Cílem této bakalářské práce je vymezení dopadů této dohody na celkový obchod České republiky s Japonskem včetně dopadů na české společnosti exportující do Japonska. Dalšími cíli této práce je zjistit, v čem spočívá vzájemná spolupráce mezi Českem a Japonskem a jaký je charakter oboustranných investic. Práce je rozdělena na 3 kapitoly, přičemž první kapitola popisuje vzájemné vztahy a následně obsahuje analýzu oboustranného obchodu před vstupem dohody v platnost. Dále se kapitola věnuje vzájemným investicím. Druhá kapitola se zabývá samotnou dohodou a rozebírá její obsah z hlediska jejich nejpodstatnějších částí, jako jsou obchod se zbožím, obchod se službami a ochrana práv duševního vlastnictví. Třetí kapitola vymezuje konkrétní dopady této dohody na Českou republiku a zároveň porovnává stav ukazatelů vzájemného obchodu po implementaci dohody se stavem před její implementací. Dále práce obsahuje vlastní výzkum, který byl proveden na základě dotazníkového šetření určenému vybraným českým firmám.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the Economic Partnership Agreement between the EU and Japan within Czech-Japanese relations. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to define the impacts of this agreement on the overall trade of the Czech Republic with Japan, including its impacts on Czech companies exporting to Japan. Other goals of this thesis are to determine the nature of mutual cooperation between the Czech Republic and Japan and the character of bilateral investments. The thesis is divided into three chapters, with the first chapter describing mutual relations and subsequently analyzing bilateral trade before the agreement came into force. The chapter also focuses on mutual investments. The second chapter deals with the agreement itself and analyzes its content in terms of its most significant parts, such as trade in goods, trade in services, and the protection of intellectual property rights. The third chapter defines the specific impacts of the agreement on the Czech Republic and compares the indicators of mutual trade before and after the agreement's implementation. Additionally, the thesis includes original research conducted through a questionnaire survey aimed at selected Czech companies.
