A High School Student and Its Attitude towards the Museum and the Exhibit

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá postoji středoškolských studentů k muzeu a sbírkovému předmětu. Teoretická část je dělena do dvou celků. V prvním je nastíněno období studenta jako adolescenta a jeho vývojová specifika ve vztahu k muzeu a možné komunikace mezi studentem a muzeem. Druhý celek teoretické části je zaměřen na možné způsoby výzkumů postojů studentů, kde je nastíněn význam výzkumu pro muzeum, typy výzkumů a základní metody sběru údajů. Praktická část je opět dělena do dvou celků. V prvním celku praktické části je popsána tvorba a realizace dotazníku potřebného pro získání dat ke zpracování bakalářské práce. Druhý celek praktické části se již zabývá vyhodnocením dotazníků a rozborem výsledků, které určují postoj středoškolských studentů k muzeu a sbírkovému předmětu. Výzkum proběhl na třech gymnáziích a třech středních školách v Českých Budějovicích. Rozbor výsledků je proveden jak na celém zkoumaném vzorku, tak je provedeno srovnání mezi postoji studentů z gymnázií a ostatních středních škol. Výsledky průzkumu by mohly sloužit pro potřeby muzeí tak, aby mohly reagovat na postoj a potřeby středoškolských studentů.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis deals with the attitudes of high school students towards the museum and its exhibit. The theory is divided into two parts. The first part describes the life of a teenage student and its development in relation to the museum by demonstrating possible ways of the communication between a student and the museum. The second part of the aforesaid theory is focused on the possibilities of research regarding the attitudes of students describing the importance of such research for the museum, different kinds of research and basic methods of data collection. The practical point of view is again divided into two parts. The first part treats the subject of a preparation and implementation of the questionnaire necessary for acquiring data collection for this thesis. The second part evaluates the questionnaires and analyses their results by means of which the attitude of high school students toward the museum and its exhibit is thus determined. My research took place at three high schools situated in České Budějovice. The analysis of acquired results has been implemented both on the integral sample subject to the survey, and on the comparison of the attitudes of grammar school students and students studying at different high schools. The results arising from this research should be useful for the needs of the museum in order to respond to the attitude and needs of high school students.
