Rastafarianism in the Czech Republic - religion or life style?

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je přiblížit komplexnější obraz rastafariánství s důrazem na český kontext jak čeští rastafariáni tento směr přijímají, jaké má postavení v jejich životě a k jakým hodnotám se váže. Zda rastafariáni v Čechách tvoří komunitu a jaké jsou mezi nimi vazby. Dále jsou zde obsaženy základní události vedoucí k samotnému vzniku směru, seznámení s klíčovými postavami tyto části jsou doplněny názory a úvahami respondentů. Práce se zabývá pojetím náboženství z několika úhlů a dalšími koncepty jako je subkultura, identita nebo životní styl.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to present a more comprehensive view of Rastafarianism, with emphasis on the Czech context how Czech Rastafarians take this way of life, which position in their lives Rastafarianism takes and what values are important. Whether Czech Rastafarians are communities and how are the connections among them. The essay also contains the principal events leading up to the rise of movement, introduction key persons - these parts are supplemented by opinions and reflections of respondents. The thesis examines the concept of religion from several points of view and other concepts - such as subculture, identity or lifestyle.
