Oncolytic viruses for cancer therapy
Abstract:
Onkolytické viry jsou terapeutické agens schopné infikovat, lyzovat a jinak ovlivňovat nádorové buňky. Práce pojednává o mechanismech, kterými viry přednostně infikují nádorové buňky, usmrcují je, poškozují jejich mikroprostředí a stimulují imunitní systém hostitele. Pozornost je zaměřena především na čeledi Adenoviridae a Herpesviridae.
Abstract:
Oncolytic viruses are therapeutical agents capable of infecting, lysing and interfering with tumor cells in other ways. This thesis deals with mechanisms of preferential infection of tumor cells, lysis, damaging tumor microenvironment and stimulation of host immune system. Special attention is paid to families Adenoviridae and Herpesviridae.
