The Life and Work of Martin M. Šimečka in the Context of Social Changes and Interviews

Abstract:

Teoretická část bakalářské práce se zaměřuje na život a dílo spisovatele a novináře Martina M. Šimečky v kontextu společenských změn. Na základě téměř tříhodinového osobního rozhovoru se samotným autorem a studia jeho vybraných literárních a novinářských textů a veřejných diskusí překládá široké veřejnosti, odborníkům, studentům žurnalistiky a literární tvorby, mediálním pracovníkům a pedagogům ucelený náhled na spisovatelovo soukromí a pracovní činnost. Bakalářská práce sestává ze tří kapitol. První kapitola pojednává o autorově soukromí, jeho vztazích s rodiči, synem a jeho přáteli. Druhá kapitola poodhaluje Martina M. Šimečku jako spisovatele. Začíná zmínkou o autorově prvotině a pokračuje až k poslední z jeho knížek. Soustřeďuje se při tom na to, jak jednotlivá díla interpretuje autor sám. Třetí kapitola je věnována žurnalistické tvorbě Martina M. Šimečky, který v současnosti komunikuje se svými čtenáři a posluchači primárně prostřednictvím novinových článků a veřejných diskusí. Praktická část práce navazuje na teoretickou sérií rozhovorů s autorovými kolegy a přáteli, Janem Štrasserem, Matúšem Kostolným a Erikem Taberym.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis focuses on the life and work of the writer and journalist Martin M. Šimečka in the context of social issues. Based on almost three hours of personal interviews with the author himself and the study of his literary and journalistic texts and public discussions, it provides a comprehensive view of the writer's private life and work for the public, professionals, students of journalism, literary production, media workers, and educators. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter deals with the author's private life, including his relationships with his parents, children, and friends. The second chapter reveals Martin M. Šimečka as a writer. It starts with a mention of the author's first book and continues up to the last of his books published so far. In doing so, I focus on how the author himself interprets his works. The third chapter is devoted to the journalistic work of Martin M. Šimečka. He currently communicates with his readers and listeners through newspaper articles and public discussions. The practical part of the thesis follows the theoretical part and includes a series of interviews with the author's colleagues, and friends.
