Character and dynamics of sedimentation in Odra River side channel in Poodří PLA

Abstract:

After impulse from Poodří PLA for the purpose of obtaining information about character and dynamics of sedimentation in parallel channel in the Odra River floodplain, we performed bathymetric measurement and sediment extraction in the channel. After processing of acquired data, I created a digital model of the channel bottom depth, survey scheme of the studied locality and sedimentary plots showing selected sedimentological characteristics of bottom sediments. Small artificial transverse dam located in the lowest end of studied channel segment has a distinct influence on bottom gradient, bottom shape and character of sedimentation. Channel longitudinal profile shows considerable fluctuation of bottom depths with higher steps and lower pools. From the extracted sedimentary cores, the core LJ1 shows considerable difference from the cores LJ 2 and LJ3, especially in its lower half. In studied channel segment accumulate mostly fine-grained sediments. Presence of sandy intercalations in extracted cores indicates events with higher flow rates.

Abstract:

Na základe podnetu CHKO Poodří za účelom získania informácií o charaktere a dynamike sedimentácie paralelného ramena rieky Odra v CHKO Poodří bolo prevedené batymetrické meranie hĺbok a odber sedimentov v koryte paralelného ramena. Po spracovaní získaných údajov bol vytvorený digitálny model ramena, meračský plán študovanej lokality a grafy zobrazujúce sedimentárne charakteristiky materiálu akumulovaného na dne ramena. Výrazný vplyv na sklon a tvar dna a charakter sedimentácie, tým pádom aj na zloženie akumulovaného materiálu má priečna stavba na spodnom konci meraného územia. Pozdĺžny profil ramenom vykazuje začne rozkolísanie hĺbok s vyššími prahmi a nižšími tôňami. Z odobratých sedimentov, vrt LJ1 vykazuje značnú odlišnosť voči vrtom LJ2 a LJ3, hlavne vo svojej spodnej polovici. V skúmanom úseku dochádza k akumulácii prevažne jemnozrnného materiálu. Prítomnosť piesočných vrstiev v odobratých sedimentárnych jadrách poukazuje na udalosti so zvýšeným prietokom.
