Abstract:

Diplomová práce zhodnocuje stav potravinové bezpečnosti v zemích JAR, Namibie a Botswana. Potravinová bezpečnost je důležitým aspektem každého rozvojového státu Výstupy jednotlivých kapitol diskutují o faktorech a vlivech na současný stav potravinové bezpečnosti v regionu jižní Afriky. Na základě předložených podkladů jsou poté formulovány výsledky. Cílem bylo zjistit, jakým způsobem ovlivňuje vývoj úrovně ekonomiky stav potravinové jistoty a jak na tento stav působí socioekonomické faktory. To zahrnuje popis dostupnosti, přístupu, využití a stability potravinové bezpečnosti v souvislosti s vybranými indikátory. Neefektivní zemědělství, vysoká míra nerovnosti, chronická chudoba, dopady změny klimatu, závislost na dovozu, nestabilní vláda a ekonomické aktivity obyvatelstva jsou označeny jako hlavní z problémů ovlivňující dosažení potravinové bezpečnosti v tomto regionu. Na úrovni národní i domácností tyto faktory negativně ovlivňují dosažení potravinové bezpečnosti. Zemědělství je zásadní pro zlepšení potravinové bezpečnosti a snížení chudoby v Africe. Zvýšením zemědělských výnosů za pomocí investic a podpory samozásobitelských zemědělců, který integrují udržitelnost a společenské role, a to prostřednictvím politik nenarušují-cích populační strukturu zemí, lze dosáhnout potravinově bezpečnější jižní Afriky.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis evaluates the state of food security in the countries of South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Food security is an important aspect of every developing country. The outputs of individual chapters discuss the factors and influences on the current state of food security in the Southern African region. Results are then formulated on the basis of the submitted documents. The aim was to find out how the development of the level of the economy affects the state of food security and how socio-economic factors affect this state. This includes a description of the availability, access, utilization and stability of food security in relation to selected indicators. Inefficient agriculture, high levels of inequality, chronic poverty, impacts of climate change, dependence on imports, unstable government and economic activities of the population are identified as the main problems affecting the achievement of food security in this region. At the national and household level, these factors negatively affect the achievement of food security. Agriculture is critical to improving food security and reducing poverty in Africa. A more food secure Southern Africa can be achieved by increasing agricultural yields through investment and support for subsistence farmers who integrate sustainability and social roles, through policies that do not disrupt the population structure of countries.
