Painted Decorations of the Gallery Chapels in St. Bartholomeus Church in Kolín

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je tvořena teoretickou a praktickou částí. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na malířskou výzdobu ochozových kaplí v kostele sv. Bartoloměje v Kolíně. Malířská výzdoba je pojednána v kontextu doby svého vzniku, tedy konce 19. století, jako součást puristického restaurování celého kostela. Práce se zaměřuje na autory tohoto restaurování, architekty Josefa Mockera a Ludvíka Láblera, a jejich ideová východiska. V teoretické části práce je rovněž řešena koncepce stávajícího restaurování nástěnných a nástropních maleb v Řeznické kapli. Praktická část práce se věnuje průzkumu a restaurování vybraného úseku nástropních maleb v klenbě Řeznické kaple.

Abstract:

Thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part deals with painted decorations of the Gallery Chapels in St. Bartholomeus Church in Kolín. Painted decoration is discussed in the context of its time, late 19th century, as a part of purist restoration of the whole church. Thesis focuses on authors of this restoration, architects Josef Mocker and Ludvík Lábler, and their ideological basis. In the theoretical part the conception of current conservation of wall and ceiling paintings in Řeznická Chapel is also dealt with. Practical part focuses on research and conservation of selected area of ceiling paintings in the vault of Řeznická Chapel.
