V této diplomové práci je přiblížena osoba Josefa Jirečka (1825? 1888), který ve 2. polovině 19. století představoval osobnost politické, vědecké, kulturní a společenské elity v českých zemích. Jako historik české literatury se věnoval studiu a bádání v oblasti jazykovědné i literární, zabýval se studiem literatury humanismu a baroka a také se podílel na publikační a ediční činnosti. In this thesis I introduced the person of Josef Jirecek (1825?1888) who represented the figure of political, scientific, cultural and social top in Czech countries during the second half on the 19th century.
