Abstract:

Cílem této práce je analyzovat moderní severoirskou historii z objektivního úhlu pohledu. Její úvodní kapitola stručně popisuje předpoklady vzniku moderního severoirského konfliktu a irské snahy o nezávislost. Následující kapitoly se věnují zejména událostem jež se odehrály v Severním Irsku v průběhu dvacátého století až do ukončení paramilitaristického příměří v roce 1996. Práce je zaměřena na porovnávání několika knih o irské historii s cílem najít a kriticky zhodnotit jakékoli známky zaujatosti.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the modern Norhtern-Irish history from an objective point of view. Its initial chapter briefly describes the origins of modern Northern-Irish conflict and the Irish aspirations for independence. In the following chapters, most attention is paid to the events Ireland witnessed in the course of the 20th century untill the end of paramilatry ceasefire in 1996. The thesis focuses on comparing several books on Irish history searching and criticaly commenting on any sign of bias.
