The Rearticulation of Ideology and Hegemony in Media Studies

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá zmapováním konceptů ideologie a hegemonie klíčových pro mediální studia. V nashromážděném materiálu hledá reartikulaci těchto konceptů, která by byla smysluplně aplikovatelná v analýze mediálních obrazů dneška. Reartikulace se opírá o převedení konceptů o obecném působení ideologie do terminologie diskurzu, shromáždění specificky ideologických okolností pod pojmem ideologický diskurz, distinkci diskurzu a ideologického diskurzu, vymezení hegemonické formace a nodálních bodů a jejich souvislosti s dominantním a obecným diskurzem.

Abstract:

Work deals with charting of key concepts of ideology and hegemony considerable in media studies. It tries to articulate the rearticulation of these concepts which would be applicable in the analysis of media imagery of today. The rearticulation stands on the conversion of general functioning of ideology into the terminology of discourse, on the accumulation of specific ideological conditions under term ideological discourse, on the distinction of discourse and ideological discourse, on the definition of hegemonic formation and nodal points and their contexts with dominant and general discourse.
