Transcendental numbers

Anotácia:

V této bakalářské práci se zabýváme transcendentními čísly a algebraickou nezávislostí komplexních čísel nad tělesem racionálních čísel. Ukážeme si souvislost mezi počtem řešení jisté diofantické nerovnice a transcendencí daného čísla. Zformulujeme a dokážeme Lindemannovu-Weierstrassovu větu. Najdeme míru transcendence čísla e, což nám umožní klasifikovat číslo e ve smysmlu Mahlerovy klasifikace. Na závěr ukážeme algebraickou nezávislost dvojice transcendentních čísel patřících do různých tříd Mahlerovy klasifikace.

Abstract:

In this thesis we study transcendental numbers and the algebraic independence of complex numbers over the field of rational numbers. We show the connection between the number of solutions of certain diophantic inequation and the transcendence of a given number. We state and prove the Lindemann-Weierstrass theorem. We find a transcendence measure for e, which allows us to classify number e in terms of Mahler's classification. Finally, we prove algebraic independence of a pair of transcendental numbers belonging to different classes of Mahler's classification.
