Osvícený nacionalismum mezi srbskými studenty studujícími v zahraničí

Abstract:

Následující diplomová práce aplikuje teorii osvíceného nacionalismu na příkladu srbských studentů v zahraničí. Cílem práce je odhalit efekty dlouhodobého studijního pobytu v zahraničí na patriotické a nacionalistické postoje studentů dle definice Calvert W. Jones zveřejněné v International Studies Quarterly v roce 2014. Zvolena metoda průzkumu je kvantitativní dotazník. Koncept osvíceného nacionalismu se skládá ze tří komponent: nižšího pocitu společenství, nižšího pocitu etnické vzdálenosti a vyššího pocitu vlastní národní identity.

Abstract:

The following diploma thesis applies the theory of enlightened nationalism to Serbian students studying abroad. The aim of the thesis is to uncover in which ways an experience such as studying and living abroad for a certain time-period influences the students’ patriotic and nationalistic attitudes as defined by Calvert W. Jones and published by International Studies Quarterly in 2014. The chosen method of research is quantitative survey. The concept of enlightened nationalism consists of the following components: decreased sense of community, decreased feeling of ethnical distance, and increased sense of own national identity.
