Central Bank Digital Currencies - Theory and Practice

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu digitálních měn centrálních bank (CBDC), s cílem poskytnout ucelený přehled o problematice CBDC a jejich významu v moderním finančním systému. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části - teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se zabývá historickým vývojem, vymezením a funkcemi konvenčních forem peněz a centrálního bankovnictví. Dále představuje charakteristiku, typologii a technologický základ CBDC. V praktické části se tato bakalářská práce zaměřuje na analýzu současné úrovně implementace CBDC, srovnává různé přístupy k ní, hodnotí jejich pozitivní a negativní dopady společně s potenciálními přínosy a riziky.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of CBDCs and their importance in the modern financial system. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the historical development, definition and functions of conventional forms of money and central banking. It also presents the characteristics, typology and technological basis of CBDC. In the practical part, this bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the current level of CBDC implementation, compares different approaches to it, and assesses their positive and negative impacts along with potential benefits and risks.
