Common points and differences between Generation X and tremendism

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to compare two Spanish literary movements of the 20th century, tremendism and Generation X, and to find the differences between the mentioned movements. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the sociohistorical context of both movements and a closer presentation of their main authors. The practical part deals with the analysis of selected works by the authors of Generation X and tremendism and offers specific examples of certain similarities or differences between them. After analyzing the chosen novels and the circumstances of their origin, we came to the conclusion that both literary movements have much in common, but these similarities are probably mainly due to the similarity of sociohistorical contexts of the works.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je srovnání dvou španělských literárních hnutí 20. století, tremendismu a Generace X, a společných bodů a rozdílů mezi nimi. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na sociálně-historický kontext obou hnutí a bližší představení jejich hlavních autorů. Praktická část se zabývá analýzou vybraných děl autorů Generace X a tremendismu a nabízí konkrétní příklady určitých podobností nebo odlišností mezi nimi. Po analýze těchto vybraných textů a okolností jejich vzniku jsme dospěli k závěru, že obě literární hnutí mají mnoho společného, tyto podobnosti však jsou pravděpodobně dány především podobností sociálně historických kontextů daných děl.
